A stressed college student?

Ten ways to better your mental health during the school year

Being a college student is hard; there's no sugarcoating it. In June 2022, Fortune Magazine released a study: three out of five college students deal with hardships with their mental health.

The good news is, there are ways to help better your mental health: by taking care of yourself and your well-being! Here are ten ways you can practice self-care.

1: Listen to some music

A good way to unwind after a stressful day is to find a relaxing place and listen to your favorite songs. Multiple streaming platforms have discounted subscriptions for students enrolled in universities/colleges.

2: Talk to loved ones

Whether it's family or friends, or conversations with those close to you, meaningful conversations can be replenished for the mind.

3: Read

Take a break from academic work! Pick up a book that sparks your personal interest, sit down, and let your mind fall into another world within pages.

4: Replenish your body

Overworking one's self depletes the body of necessary nutrients and vitamins one may need. Be sure to take the necessary vitamins and medicine for yourself.

5: Journaling

Taking time during your day can be a healthy way to reflect on your day or how you feel.

6: Yoga

Yoga is a healthy and active way to keep your body going. It also provides time for yourself to relax and take a break from your day's work.

7: Drink

Along with taking medication or vitamins, replenish your body with liquids. Drink water, brew coffee, or steam tea.

8: Indulge in media

Wanting to unwind or have some free time? Watch a show or movie, and get lost in entertainment.

9: Clean your space

A clean space creates a clean mind! Taking some time out of your day to create a comfortable environment goes a long way.

10: Practice hygiene

Take the time to practice hygiene. Take a shower, brush your teeth, and practice clean methods that make you feel good.
